Design & Expectations
Here you can see the character model of a human, more precisely only the head and hands. This is due to reducing the amount of polygones, because Abyss Lab is a strategy game and many of these characters will walk around in-game.
The clothings covers all areas where no mesh is visible. One of the core mechanics entails that the player is able to research better equipment for their soldiers, which are added to the existing clothes or replaces them. That's why any character comes with a script which makes the clothing run along their animation. Some examples can be seen at the right. Furthermore another script is responsible for randomly activating male or female heads on the character and choosing different materials for skin colors. |
